Job Overview

The Food Runner at our hospital plays a crucial role in our patient care experience. This position involves ensuring the timely delivery of meals to patients, maintaining dietary guidelines, and contributing to a positive atmosphere. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to providing excellent service.

Qualifications

Required

• Successful completion of general and department specific orientation
• Previous experience in a food service role
• Knowledge of dietary restrictions and food safety standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work in a very fast-paced environment

Preferred

• Experience in a healthcare setting
• Certification in food handling and safety
• Bilingual abilities
• Excellent problem-solving skills

Scheduling Requirements

• Shift working 5:30am-2:00pm. 6am-2:30pm & 7am-3:30pm

The candidate must be available to work on weekends and holidays as needed.

Essential Functions

• Deliver meals to patients in a timely and respectful manner
• Adhere to dietary restrictions and guidelines for each patient
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of food service areas
• Collaborate with the healthcare and dietary team to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Assist in inventory management and meal preparation as needed.
